Active Schools
Active Schools is a SportScotland programme that aims to provide more, and higher-quality, opportunities for children and young people to participate in sport and physical activity before school, during lunchtime, and after school, while creating strong and sustainable pathways between schools and local sports clubs that encourage lifelong participation. In Dundee, Active Schools is delivered in partnership with Dundee City Council and Leisure & Culture Dundee and is available across all schools in the city, supporting inclusive and enjoyable activity opportunities for pupils of all ages. With over 20 years of experience, the programme has supported generations of young people to get involved and stay involved in sport, continuing to make a significant contribution to a world-class sporting system in Scotland.

Meet The Team
Keiran Foy- Active Schools Coordinator (Greenfield Academy)
Hello everyone, my name is Keiran and I am the new active schools coordinator for Mill O’Mains, taking over from Gareth in the summer. I have a real passion for sport, giving kids new opportunities and watching them try something new. I aim to ensure every kid has an opportunity o play ad get involved in sport, regardless of age, ability or background. I also enjoy bringing clubs in the school and letting kids try different sports that are available to them in the community. Furthermore, I enjoy using sport as a vehicle for positive change and enabling the kids to learn and achieve in different ways.

Bryce Ness- Active Schools Assistant (Mill O' Mains)
Hello everyone,
My name is Bryce and I am the new Active Schools Assistant for Mill O’Mains. I am passionate about all things sport and about providing young people with opportunities to get involved, try new activities and develop their confidence through participation. My aim is to ensure that every child at Mill O’Mains has the chance to take part in sport, regardless of age, ability or background. A key goal this year is to increase overall participation levels across the school and to work towards achieving the School of Sport Award at Gold level. I am also keen to work closely with local sports clubs and key community links to bring a range of activities into the school and help pupils explore the opportunities available within the community. I strongly believe in the power of sport to create positive experiences, support learning and help young people achieve in different ways.
